I have attended the food for friend’s service on one or two occasions. My husband, Randy, is there most weeks. We frequently see people he has gotten to know through this ministry when we are in downtown Athens. His ministry to them has ministered to my family. My children and I get to see these friends as people, not vagrants, not "the homeless”, but people like you and me who have really had it rough in life. I can't say I am in the same place as my husband; but I can certainly see the potential of this ministry. I was honored to go to the new building ( hopefully) on this past Saturday morning and pray for funds, for inner city Athens, and for the love of Christ to be known by all. I literally had chill bumps walking through that building a nd praying over the endless rooms there. I see a place of worship where no one feels ashamed, where love abounds, where children know Jesus and where hearts are healed. I look forward to being more involved in this ministry.
